Pool and Spa Inspection – INTERNACHI
Safety is the number one reason to get a pool or spa inspection. Pools and spas contain water, they also have electrical wiring, and systems/components that are used to heat up & filter the water, etc. Making pools and spas potentially very dangerous if they are not functioning properly, this is why it is so important to have these components thoroughly inspected especially on unfamiliar systems during a Real-Estate transaction.
Even if the inspection finds that everything is functioning properly and that it is most importantly safe, this will give you peace of mind that your family can enjoy the pool and or spa without worrying about the safety or integrity!
Pools and spas require routine maintenance year-round, whether you use it all the time or not, which is why it is important to have it inspected regularly.
Major repairs can be very costly, another important reason to have the equipment and or it’s systems inspected during a Real-Estate transaction as this could potentially save you big $$$.!! Our report and findings could be brought to a seller’s attention prior to purchase or closing. This could help you negotiate for repairs or maintenance that may be required.
This includes checking pool lights, electrical wiring, filter, pump, motors, skimmers, drains, inlets/outlets,Coolers, and coolers, for proper functionality and safety, etc.
Inspectors will check the area around the pool or spa to make sure that it is safe and up to standards as well. broken tiles, cracking walkways can all be hazards, especially since swimming probably means that you will likely be barefoot.
Cracking can also mean shifting of the foundation that the pool or spa was poured into, which can lead to problems in the future such as leaking.
General Equipment Functionality
The most important part of a pool or spa inspection is looking at and testing the functionality of it’s systems, components, and or equipment, making sure the equipment and surrounding area is safe.
Inspector will test and look for leaks, whether there is proper filter pressure, and safety of the water heaters.
Getting a pool/spa inspection will ensure that you are safe to use and be around your pool or spa.
A residential pool and spa inspection is a non-invasive, visual examination of the accessible areas of a pool or spa, performed for a fee, which is designed to identify defects within specific systems and components defined by these Standards that are both observed and deemed material by the inspector. The scope of work may be modified by the Client and Inspector prior to the inspection process.
